Wind Turbine Service Technician - Nordex Group - Melbourne

Description
- Complete scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on wind turbines
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults and carry out effective troubleshooting
- Inspect turbine systems to detect potential problems before they cause failures
- Repair or replace turbine components in line with company procedures
- Prepare accurate service reports, maintenance records and inspection documentation on schedule
- Perform all work in accordance with safety, quality and environmental standards
- Take part in daily toolbox talks and help strengthen the site safety culture
- Use technical drawings, manuals and digital systems to support maintenance work
- Assist with commissioning, upgrades and retrofit projects as required
- Keep tools, equipment and company vehicles safe, maintained and ready for use
- Work with colleagues, contractors and customers to support efficient site operations
- Join the on-call roster and respond to turbine breakdowns when needed
- Travel to wind farm sites as required
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability and operational efficiency
Requirements
- Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics or an equivalent discipline
- Current A-Grade Electrical Licence is mandatory
- Prior experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, utilities, mining, construction, renewable energy or a comparable technical setting
- Experience in the wind industry is advantageous
- Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to read and apply technical drawings, manuals and procedures
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
- Commitment to safe work practices and established HSE requirements
- Willingness and ability to work at heights and in changing environmental conditions
- Physical capacity to perform hands-on field maintenance
- Competence with computers and digital maintenance systems
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Self-directed, dependable and capable of working independently
- Valid driver's licence
- Willingness to travel and work in regional or remote locations when required
- Interest in renewable energy and ongoing professional development
