Wholesale Planning Director – FP Movement

Lead wholesale financial planning, forecasting, open-to-buy management, and inventory strategy for FP Movement’s activewear business. Drive margin performance and account planning across retail and digital wholesale channels.

Description

  • Build and oversee regional budgets, six-month financial plans, and monthly forecasts by store format.
  • Work with Merchandising to manage open-to-buy, category demand, full-price forecasts, and closeout plans.
  • Review forecasts, reserves, markdowns, bad-debt exposure, and long-range initiatives alongside Finance and the Controller.
  • Monitor daily shipment performance, gross-sales-to-net-sales conversion, and profitability by channel.
  • Reduce markdown allowances and returns to vendors, approve RTVs and credit memos, and negotiate terms that protect margin.
  • Coordinate across teams to address order-picking, release, and supply-chain system constraints.
  • Work with Credit Management on account support, credit holds, collections, and cross-divisional credit solutions.
  • Participate in key market appointments, executive retailer meetings, and assortment reviews.
  • Keep internal sales teams and independent representative networks aligned across all territories.
  • Direct wholesale planning, financial forecasting, commercial inventory strategy, and a strong planning team serving department stores, specialty retailers, digital partners, and international distributors.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in wholesale merchandise planning, category financial analysis, or apparel inventory operations.
  • Experience in activewear or performance apparel is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, Fashion Merchandising, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge of wholesale P&L management, six-month bottom-up planning, open-to-buy, margin allowances, and financial modeling.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating teams across Sales, Finance, and Operations.
  • Experience managing credit and risk for major retail channels.
