Transmission Line Principal Engineer - Florida Remote
Lead high-voltage transmission projects supporting wind, solar, and battery energy storage developments. Manage consultants and project delivery from early design through construction and commissioning.
Description
- Lead design for transmission generation tie lines supporting wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects.
- Oversee stand-alone transmission line projects from initial concept through construction and commissioning.
- Collaborate within the Engineering & Construction Group.
- Manage engineering consultants responsible for transmission line design.
- Shape project requirements and scope in partnership with the Development Group.
- Obtain engineering consulting support by preparing scopes of work, soliciting and assessing bids, and awarding contracts through the Integrated Supply Chain Group.
- Work with stakeholders to develop and secure transmission routes.
- Support the engineering data and permitting needed to design and construct transmission lines.
- Source, evaluate, and contract geotechnical, surveying, engineering, and construction services.
- Provide scope assumptions to support the E&C Cost Estimating Team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil/structural engineering.
- At least seven years of direct experience developing, designing, engineering, and constructing high-voltage transmission line projects.
- Technical ability to interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, general arrangements, plan and profiles, and other standard project deliverables.
- Availability for travel within North America.
- Ability to work in compliance with United States and applicable export control regulations.
