Structural BIM Technician

Create and refine structural 3D models, drawings, and designs for TRC Worldwide Engineering. Coordinate project information and accurate deliverables with internal teams and external customers.

Description

  • Translate construction documents into detailed 3D models for constructing and maintaining structures
  • Design structural elements with defined dimensions, materials, and installation procedures
  • Produce detailed drawings of structures and their components
  • Prepare schematic and angled views showing relationships among components, assemblies, systems, and structures
  • Evaluate specifications, sketches, drawings, concepts, and supporting information
  • Identify design and procedural factors affecting components and required work instructions
  • Add instructions, notes, and comments to technical drawings
  • Revise designs to address operational deficiencies and resolve technical issues
  • Work with internal and external customers to understand needs and deliver precise project materials
  • Coordinate with team members to support quality standards and project schedules
  • Prepare reports and data downloads for team use
  • Handle other assigned responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology, CAD Drafting and Design, or a related field
  • Relevant professional experience may substitute for formal education
  • Three to five years of experience in structural engineering design
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings
  • Ability to communicate engineering requirements clearly
  • Advanced proficiency with Revit, BIM, and 3D design software
  • Critical-thinking skills for solving technical problems
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate information across multiple functional teams
  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines and customer expectations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business software
