Description

  • Lead the product strategy for AlphaSense’s Excel plugin.
  • Connect the AlphaSense AI platform with Microsoft Excel.
  • Deliver a plugin used by thousands of analysts at leading financial institutions.
  • Make AI-assisted research accessible through familiar Excel formulas.
  • Reduce the need to switch between Excel and research tools.
  • Define the technical foundation and engineering practices for Office integrations.
  • Guide and mentor engineers working on desktop software.
  • Improve the product’s quality and performance standards.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience building and operating large-scale production systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern software development practices.
  • Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming, state management, and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience deploying, updating, and versioning enterprise software.
  • Demonstrated ability to build performant applications with robust error handling and recovery.
  • Expertise debugging complex integrations and optimizing memory usage and performance.
  • Ability to mentor engineering teams and establish effective development practices.
  • Experience with the Office JavaScript API, VSTO, or COM add-ins is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Excel’s calculation engine, object model, and common power-user workflows is preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, data analysis workflows, or trading systems is preferred.
  • Experience with React, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks is preferred.
  • Experience building offline-capable applications with synchronization mechanisms is preferred.
  • Experience with WebSocket, real-time data feeds, or streaming architectures is preferred.
  • Production experience with the Office JavaScript API or Office Add-ins framework.
  • Experience using TypeScript, React, and modern frontend tooling.
  • Experience implementing enterprise authentication with SSO, OAuth, or SAML.
  • Experience supporting both Windows and Mac.
