Description
- Produce, report, write, and anchor deadline-driven sports content for television, digital, and social platforms
- Deliver accurate, compelling coverage that meets strong journalism and production standards
- Report on breaking sports news and major sporting events
- Film, edit, and oversee video content for broadcasts and digital outlets
- Generate story ideas, research subjects, and coordinate broad sports coverage
- Write and publish stories for the station website and other digital platforms
- Connect with viewers through social media and community appearances
- Maintain video equipment and handle additional assigned duties
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
- Broad knowledge of sports, sports culture, and related topics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong on-air presentation abilities
- At least two years of sports or news reporting experience preferred, depending on the market
- Proficiency with newsroom technology, computer systems, and standard office equipment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Collaborative approach with strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Availability for a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Successful completion of required pre-employment background screening
