Description

  • Build, test, and release feature-rich iOS applications.
  • Investigate complex technical problems, troubleshoot failures, and determine root causes.
  • Work with designers, product managers, and cross-functional partners to turn requirements into software.
  • Contribute to architecture conversations, peer code reviews, and feature planning.
  • Connect applications with third-party APIs and web services.
  • Build secure approaches to data processing, caching, local storage, and synchronization.
  • Evaluate and apply engineering practices, design patterns, and new technologies.
  • Improve application performance, customer engagement, and long-term maintainability.
  • Deliver project milestones, respond to business needs, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Create technology solutions for Walmart Vision Center customers purchasing glasses and sunglasses or managing contact lens needs.
  • Design, implement, test, deploy, and support Swift applications for iPadOS within an agile development process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field plus two years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, four years of software engineering or related experience.
  • Proficiency with Swift and Objective-C.
  • Experience incorporating REST APIs, GraphQL services, and other data sources into iOS applications.
  • Knowledge of data management, storage, caching, and synchronization methods.
  • Skill in analyzing difficult technical problems, debugging, troubleshooting, and optimizing code.
  • Experience partnering with designers, product managers, and developers on cross-functional teams.
  • Comfort working with unclear or changing requirements.
  • Readiness to learn additional languages, tools, or frameworks.
  • Ability to manage production incidents and changing priorities.
  • Ability to become productive quickly in unfamiliar domains.

  • Preferred: familiarity with WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
