Senior Water Resources and Dam Engineer

Lead dam repair, removal, and climate resilience initiatives as a senior water resources and dam engineer. Direct design, permitting, modeling, and multidisciplinary project delivery for Fuss & O’Neill.

Description

  • Direct dam repair and removal projects through planning, design, permitting, and construction support
  • Define project scopes, fees, schedules, and budgets while managing contracts and delivery
  • Produce and review engineering analyses, technical reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Coordinate local, state, and federal permitting activities and grant applications
  • Use hydrologic and hydraulic models to inform designs and regulatory submissions
  • Work with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams throughout New England
  • Contribute to business development through funding strategies and proposal preparation
  • Coach junior and mid-level engineers while providing technical direction

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • At least 10 years of experience in water resources and dam engineering
  • Strong understanding of dam safety regulations, codes, and industry standards
  • Demonstrated experience leading dam repair and removal design projects
  • Track record of producing high-quality technical reports and permit applications
  • Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software
  • Practical knowledge of CAD-based design tools
  • Strong project management, communication, and mentoring abilities
  • Willingness to travel 10–15% throughout New England
