Senior Technical Lead, Full-Stack Engineering — Remote in the United States

Lead full-stack engineering, cloud infrastructure, and security for Koniag Government Services’ USDA environmental review modernization platform. Drive federal IT development and technical delivery for the USDA ERAS Platform.

Description

  • Define the technical direction for backend APIs, frontend applications, and cloud infrastructure
  • Uphold PWS quality targets through 90% test coverage, no linting errors, and no medium- or high-severity security vulnerabilities
  • Manage integrations with USDA mission systems through clearly specified APIs
  • Direct technology choices across approved tools including Python, Ruby, JavaScript, and React on cloud.gov
  • Enforce compliance with Zero Trust Architecture under NIST SP 800-207, FIPS 140-2 encryption, and OWASP security standards
  • Manage GitHub and CircleCI CI/CD pipelines
  • Contribute to system documentation, handoff planning, and contract transition activities
  • Maintain API performance targets, including CatEx triage responses below one second
  • Work closely each day with the Product Owner, Facilitator, and design team
  • Assist a federal client with business and IT modernization for the USDA ERAS Platform

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related discipline is required
  • At least eight years of software engineering experience
  • Three or more years in a technical lead or senior engineering position
  • Experience directing development teams on federal government IT initiatives
  • Strong software engineering expertise with full-stack development experience
  • Background with cloud-hosted federal systems; cloud.gov experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of agile development practices
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, and federal security requirements
  • Experience designing microservices and developing APIs
  • Proven ability to develop and deploy cloud-native applications
  • Experience applying agile or Scrum methods to large-scale software projects
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • A master’s degree is preferred
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional, or comparable federal cloud credentials are advantageous
  • Salesforce development experience is advantageous
