Senior Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Specialist - Remote
Lead stakeholder engagement and communications for the USDA Rural Development BioPreferred Program. Build relationships across government, industry, and advocacy communities while supporting outreach, media activities, and participant recruitment remotely.
Description
- Cultivate and manage relationships with stakeholders in government, industry, and advocacy organizations
- Assess stakeholder influence and interests to guide outreach planning
- Represent the program at industry events, conferences, and public forums
- Assist with media relations and public engagement that showcase program initiatives
- Act as the liaison to the USDA Office of External Affairs and Rural Development State Public Information Officers
- Help produce newsletters, case studies, and other communications for stakeholders
- Assist with recruiting new program participants and maintaining outreach to current participants
- Join regular project status and planning meetings with program leadership
- Provide communications and stakeholder support for the USDA Rural Development BioPreferred Program
Requirements
- About seven years of professional experience managing stakeholder relationships and engaging individuals or groups in a stakeholder-facing position
- Proven ability to identify stakeholders, evaluate their influence and interests, communicate effectively, and develop durable relationships
- Ability to pass a federal USDA background investigation and secure a government-issued PIV credential
- Experience in agriculture, biobased industries, or federal public affairs and communications is preferred
