Description

  • Partner with product managers and stakeholders to turn business challenges into AI-powered search and retrieval solutions.
  • Build hybrid search across large datasets, combining BM25 keyword retrieval with semantic and vector search.
  • Create and improve retrieval pipelines for RAG and other AI applications.
  • Develop scalable workflows for document ingestion, indexing, embedding generation, and search ranking.
  • Work with the Data team on collecting, enriching, chunking, and indexing data.
  • Implement AI services that connect large language models with search infrastructure.
  • Use Python to process data, build search pipelines, and assess retrieval quality.
  • Create tools and infrastructure for relevance tuning, search evaluation, and ongoing ranking model improvements.
  • Deploy AI search services with cloud operations, monitoring performance and improving latency, relevance, and reliability.
  • Contribute to establishing the Czech Republic R&D hub and work with U.S.-based teams during integration.

Requirements

  • At least five years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in backend systems or search infrastructure.
  • Experience building search or retrieval systems for large document collections.
  • Practical experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Solr, or comparable search platforms.
  • Experience implementing hybrid search that combines keyword retrieval and vector embeddings.
  • Strong Python development skills or proficiency with an equivalent modern technology stack.
  • Familiarity with document processing workflows, including chunking, embeddings, and indexing.
  • Experience taking scalable data infrastructure into production SaaS systems.
  • Experience with AWS and modern DevOps practices.
  • Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, or FAISS.
  • Experience tuning search rankings and relevance models.
  • Background in information retrieval or search relevance engineering.
  • Experience building RAG systems or AI agents.
  • Experience with LLMs and retrieval-augmented architectures.
  • Familiarity with large-scale document processing, including OCR and structured document extraction.
  • Exposure to fintech or the legal industry.
