Description

  • Review existing C#/.NET applications and workflows
  • Build and improve .NET Worker Services
  • Develop APIs with ASP.NET Core
  • Implement data integration and persistence with Azure Cosmos DB
  • Work with SQL Server data
  • Define JSON serialization and data contracts
  • Build and enhance REST and OpenAPI APIs
  • Add API versioning, filtering, sorting, and pagination
  • Implement OAuth2/OIDC authentication and authorization
  • Design idempotency, retry and backoff, failure-handling, and reprocessing mechanisms
  • Develop concurrent and distributed processing capabilities
  • Implement logging, metrics, and telemetry
  • Write unit, integration, and contract tests
  • Help validate data consistency between SQL Server and Cosmos DB
  • Maintain applications deployed on Kubernetes and AKS
  • Move between solution components based on delivery phases and backlog priorities
  • Collaborate across an engineering pool on multiple solution components

Requirements

  • Strong professional experience with C# and .NET
  • Practical experience developing with ASP.NET Core
  • Experience with .NET Worker Services or comparable backend processing
  • Background in REST API development and integration
  • Working knowledge of OpenAPI, Swagger, and JSON
  • Experience using SQL Server
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and/or AKS
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests
  • Understanding of API authentication and authorization
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze established applications
  • Knowledge of resilience patterns such as retries, backoff, and failure handling
  • Strong background in backend engineering, systems integration, and Microsoft Azure
  • Preferred: practical experience with Azure Cosmos DB and its SDK
  • Preferred: experience working with Microsoft Azure
  • Preferred: familiarity with Azure API Management
  • Preferred: experience with OAuth2/OIDC and Entra ID
  • Preferred: understanding of idempotency and at-least-once processing
  • Preferred: experience supporting high-volume applications
  • Preferred: knowledge of observability practices, distributed logging, metrics, and tracing
  • Preferred: experience with event-driven architecture, CQRS, or read models
  • Ability to work independently with technical ownership
  • Analytical ability to understand existing systems
  • Flexibility to contribute across different solution components
  • Strong collaboration skills with Architecture, SRE, QA, and partner teams
  • Clear communication about risks, blockers, and dependencies
  • Consistent focus on data quality and consistency
  • Willingness to share technical knowledge
