Description

  • Build and run distributed backend services and APIs for core platforms used by product teams worldwide.
  • Own services from architecture and implementation through production monitoring, reliability, and ongoing improvement.
  • Set service contracts, SLOs, and safeguards for internal platform users.
  • Work with data, machine learning, and infrastructure engineers to turn models, datasets, and core components into dependable internal products.
  • Lead new platform builds and modernization efforts, make practical technical trade-offs, and establish standards for critical systems.

Requirements

  • Bring substantial backend or platform engineering experience, with ownership of production systems from design and implementation to operations and continued development.
  • Have a track record building APIs or microservices on modern cloud infrastructure and working with distributed systems at scale.
  • Have supported platform services that many teams rely on in their daily work.
  • Be comfortable making technical decisions and delivering new systems in ambiguous, fast-moving environments while considering long-term needs.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with engineers across disciplines and locations.
  • Experience with data, machine learning, or AI infrastructure is a plus.
  • Experience in highly regulated or safety-critical sectors is a plus.
  • Experience at a fast-growing global technology company is a plus.
  • Experience mentoring fellow engineers is a plus.
