Senior Java Tech Lead, Spring Boot
Lead architecture, delivery, and production operations for Europace, Germany’s largest platform for real estate financing and installment loans. Shape technical quality and guide teams working with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and TypeScript.
Description
- Own the technical direction of your area from architecture through production operations.
- Set target architectures and guide architecture and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Define technical standards for Java and Spring Boot, as well as Angular and TypeScript.
- Review existing solutions and make focused improvements to evolve systems.
- Partner with Product and stakeholders to turn business goals into technical plans.
- Assess requirements carefully and make dependencies and risks visible.
- Identify where AI can add value and integrate it where appropriate.
- Guide technical decisions from discovery through delivery, balancing architecture, quality, and cost.
- Uphold code and quality standards while supporting fast, dependable releases.
- Spot structural issues early and strengthen production stability, maintainability, and transparency.
- Support experienced developers with technical discussion, feedback, and shared standards.
- Lead openly and clearly, especially through periods of change.
Requirements
- Several years building complex software systems and providing technical leadership, for example as a Tech Lead, Senior Engineer, or Staff Engineer.
- A strong grasp of architecture, system design, and durable technical decisions in established systems.
- Experience working with Product and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical work.
- Several years of Java and Spring Boot experience.
- TypeScript and Angular knowledge is an advantage.
- Proficiency with APIs, integrations, distributed systems, and CI/CD.
- Experience building software for production environments.
- High standards for code quality, clear technical principles, and test coverage.
- A solid understanding of stability, scalability, and maintainability in production operations.
- Interest in adopting new technologies pragmatically and integrating AI meaningfully into products.
- Business-fluent German at C1 level or above, written and spoken.
