Senior iOS Software Engineer (Objective-C) – Los Angeles Onsite
Level 5 iOS engineer building high-performance Snapchat camera experiences with Objective-C and scalable services. Develop mobile products and infrastructure at Snap Inc., a visual communication technology company.
Description
- Develop and enhance high-performance mobile applications
- Build reliable products with smooth, consistent operation
- Architect, implement, and thoroughly test Objective-C software for Snapchat camera experiences
- Plan, develop, and launch new product features
- Assess engineering tradeoffs and their technical implications
- Partner with Design on user interface and infrastructure practices
- Review code to maintain quality standards
- Apply AI tools and rapid engineering workflows to design and deliver scalable services
- Maintain standards for correctness, security, and production readiness
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as computer science, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 6 years of post-bachelor’s software development experience, or 5+ years after a technical master’s degree, or 2+ years after a relevant technical PhD
- Professional experience developing iOS applications
- Demonstrated understanding of the Objective-C runtime and underlying system processes
- Knowledge of operating system internals, compilers, and optimization for low-power mobile systems
- Proficiency in iOS multithreading and performance optimization
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures
- Knowledge of software design patterns and iOS development best practices
- Proficiency with, or strong aptitude for, using AI tools to improve development workflows
- Sound judgment when reviewing AI-generated code for architectural integrity, performance issues, and security risks
- Ability to learn and apply evolving AI systems and tools
- Experience with Objective-C and iOS
- Experience with Swift
- Experience with C or C++
- Experience with OpenGL or Metal
