Description

Lead and enhance Epic Kids’ native iOS apps for iPhone and iPad within a mature Swift and Objective-C codebase
Own the reading experience, including the internal book renderer and narration synchronized with word-level text highlighting
Manage offline reading, in-app purchases, and the App Store release process
Improve application performance, reliability, and overall quality
Collaborate with Android, backend, and web teams to deliver shared product capabilities
Develop cross-platform expertise by learning Android and Kotlin and contributing to both mobile applications

Requirements

At least five years of experience building and releasing native iOS applications through the App Store
Advanced proficiency with Swift and UIKit
Ability to work effectively in a combined Swift and Objective-C codebase
Demonstrated expertise in custom UI or text rendering and/or real-time media and audio synchronization
Practical experience with concurrency and thread safety
Experience implementing local data persistence
Experience developing in-app purchases
Experience managing releases, including CI, code signing, TestFlight, and App Store submissions
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
Working familiarity with SwiftUI and Swift Concurrency using async/await
Familiarity with AVCadence for synchronizing audio and text
Experience implementing encrypted media playback
Experience building accessible interfaces with VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, and WCAG principles
Interest in cross-platform mobile development and working knowledge of Android or Kotlin
