Description

  • Design and maintain secure, scalable, highly available infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments
  • Assess emerging technologies and build long-term infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business goals and industry standards
  • Define how AI is adopted across infrastructure and cloud
  • Lead the development and implementation of infrastructure strategies
  • Advise IT, Security, and business teams as an infrastructure architecture expert
  • Clarify business needs, document requirements, and ensure solutions meet corporate policies and standards
  • Automate provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance for infrastructure and end-user devices
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across experience levels
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and security standards
  • Resolve complex infrastructure issues and identify their root causes
  • Develop and implement ways to reduce IT and infrastructure costs
  • Assess third-party services, support vendor selection, and work with Sourcing on contract reviews
  • Improve infrastructure services and performance while keeping current with technologies and best practices

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • At least eight years of experience in IT engineering or a related field
  • Expertise in IT technologies, protocols, and architecture
  • Broad enterprise infrastructure architecture expertise covering compute, storage, backup, SAN/NAS, hybrid cloud, networking, high availability, disaster recovery, virtual desktops, roadmaps, governance, and cross-functional technical direction
  • Understanding of automation and infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Python
  • Knowledge of security and governance practices, including IAM, NIST, and CIS
  • Familiarity with observability platforms such as Splunk, Elastic, and Dynatrace
  • Experience supporting cloud-based virtual desktop environments
  • Knowledge of compute systems, VMware, Nutanix, NAS/SAN and cloud storage
  • Knowledge of Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB storage protocols
  • Understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
  • Knowledge of AWS and Azure compute and storage services
  • Advanced knowledge of VMware, Nutanix, and Hyper-V virtualization
  • Expertise in end-user computing and virtual desktop platforms, including Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Amazon WorkSpaces/AppStream
  • Expertise in distributed computing platforms and IT diagnostic tools
  • Expertise in technical analysis, implementation, configuration, and system upgrades
  • Expertise in systems management software, remote control, patch management, software distribution, and operating systems
  • In-depth knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to design and implement complex infrastructure solutions
  • Skill in diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure problems
  • Ability to manage, monitor, and optimize infrastructure systems
  • Ability to script and automate storage tasks with PowerShell, Python, or Bash
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear technical procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with personnel at all levels
  • Ability to follow and develop standard operating procedures
  • Preferred, but not required, certifications include CompTIA Storage Certified, CIS, CITAM, ITIL, AWS, Azure, VMware, and Nutanix certifications
