Senior Forward Deployed Engineer at Cloudflare (Hybrid, Sweden)
Partner with strategic customer engineering teams to build production systems and drive adoption of Cloudflare’s Internet security, networking, and developer platform.
Description
- Act as a dedicated, long-term technical partner within a strategic customer’s engineering organization
- Design, build, and deploy production-ready code and configurations in customer infrastructure with Cloudflare’s platform
- Own the account’s technical success across Cloudflare’s portfolio and act as its primary technical contact
- Join customer engineering practices such as daily standups, design reviews, and real-time incident response
- Drive adoption of Cloudflare services throughout the customer’s technology stack
- Identify real-world edge cases and product gaps for Cloudflare’s Product and Engineering teams
- Build trusted technical relationships with Staff+ engineers, Directors, and VPs
- Maintain a regular on-site presence at customer locations
- Shape Cloudflare’s developer platform roadmap through customer feedback
Requirements
- Bring at least seven years of professional software engineering experience
- Work effectively with modern languages including TypeScript, Rust, and Go
- Demonstrate ownership of mission-critical services used by real-world customers
- Understand on-call rotations, incident response, and five-nines availability
- Apply broad technical knowledge across frontend performance, backend logic, database optimization, and distributed infrastructure
- Use AI-augmented development workflows such as Windsurf or OpenCode in daily engineering work
- Design scalable and resilient architectures from complex business requirements
- Have deep experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Understand serverless, networking, and security primitives
- Communicate effectively in high-stakes technical discussions with VP-level stakeholders and connect engineering trade-offs to business impact
- Be authorized to receive software or technology controlled under U.S. export laws without export-license sponsorship, where applicable
- Be willing and able to develop deep expertise in Cloudflare areas including Workers, security, networking, and observability
