Senior Field Service Technician, GSE (Remote - United States)

Oshkosh AeroTech is seeking a senior field service technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain aviation ground-support equipment at airports across the United States. The role covers electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and PLC systems on ICE and electric platforms.

Description

  • Service aircraft tow tractors, container loaders, deicers, baggage and cargo vehicles, and other airport ground-support equipment powered by internal-combustion or electric systems
  • Diagnose faults, complete repairs, and perform preventive maintenance on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical equipment
  • Use PLC interfaces to upload and download programs, troubleshoot logic, and adjust control systems
  • Support dealer technicians with troubleshooting by phone, email, and on-site collaboration
  • Consult service manuals, technical documentation, and schematics to complete work accurately
  • Record service activity in work-order systems, track issue resolution, and prepare service reports
  • Support OEM testing activities and equipment upgrade projects as required
  • Train customer personnel on product operation and safe-use procedures at their sites
  • Coach or train junior and less-experienced field technicians when needed
  • Travel to regional customers and airports throughout the continental United States as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED plus at least five years of relevant machine assembly or light-fabrication experience, relevant Oshkosh Corporation contracting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior ground-support equipment experience
  • Skilled in electrical diagnostics and repair
  • Skilled in mechanical systems and component-level service
  • Skilled in hydraulic diagnostics and repair
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to work independently and resolve problems effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Able to obtain a passport if required
  • Able to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural environment
  • Available and willing to travel outside the assigned region 40–50% of the time
