Senior Digital Banking Solutions Architect (Remote)
Designing secure digital banking platforms, integrations, and architecture standards while advising stakeholders and shaping technology strategy for a financial services organization.
Description
- Design and deliver digital banking solutions from concept through implementation
- Convert business needs into secure, scalable, and forward-looking technology architectures
- Establish and document end-to-end architecture for mobile applications, online banking portals, and backend services
- Align solution designs with organizational objectives, compliance obligations, and established industry practices
- Collect requirements and turn them into practical technical solutions
- Counsel clients and internal stakeholders on architecture choices and technology direction
- Assess emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to scalability, performance, and security
- Guide the evaluation and selection of tools, platforms, and development frameworks
- Create integration approaches for core banking platforms, payment gateways, identity systems, and external APIs
- Coordinate reliable integration across digital and operational channels
- Set architectural principles, reusable design patterns, and coding standards
- Oversee adherence to security, regulatory, and data privacy obligations, including PCI DSS and GDPR
- Develop and manage relationships with technology vendors
- Support project management activities and contribute to strategic planning
- Mentor less experienced technology professionals through guidance and subject matter expertise
- Plan, schedule, allocate, track, and direct team activities for technical and operational projects when needed
- Handle additional assigned responsibilities and contribute to organizational initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, plus at least five years of progressive experience in application analysis, systems development, systems design, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least five years working with major technology platforms and diverse technologies, including substantial software development and design experience
- Experience developing technology strategies and architectures, preferably in financial services
- Working knowledge of project management and software development methodologies
- Strong understanding of the banking industry
- Strong technical proficiency with Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Ability to understand and evaluate business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations
- Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation
- Ability to present information and address questions from managers, clients, customers, and members of the public
- Ability to build and sustain trust with internal and external customers
- Exceptional presentation skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Outlook
- Understanding of banking processes and the enterprise systems that support them
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to use related workplace equipment
- Ability to read and interpret written documents
- Ability to lift, move, or carry approximately 10 pounds when required
