Senior DevSecOps Engineer — Remote, United States

Lead the security, automation, and operation of CACI’s cloud-native DoD platforms. This role focuses on Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, and compliant CI/CD delivery.

Description

  • Operate Kubernetes platforms and mission applications with Big Bang, Helm, and GitOps deployment methods.
  • Create and maintain Terraform Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, IAM, and platform services.
  • Design, secure, and improve CI/CD pipelines with reusable templates, automated testing, and controlled release promotion.
  • Assess, prioritize, remediate, and verify infrastructure, container, and application vulnerabilities within defined SLAs.
  • Apply hardened Kubernetes and cloud baselines consistent with DISA STIGs, NIST 800-53, RMF, and organizational security standards.
  • Administer Kubernetes security measures covering RBAC, network policies, pod security, admission controls, secrets, and secure ingress and egress.
  • Keep GitOps processes aligned with Git as the authoritative repository for platform and infrastructure configuration.
  • Observe CI/CD systems, runners, deployments, and Kubernetes workloads while resolving build, deployment, performance, and availability problems.
  • Automate patching, configuration management, and compliance verification activities.
  • Create security and operations documentation, including architecture diagrams, implementation guidance, scan evidence, remediation plans, and POA&M updates.
  • Contribute to RMF and ATO activities by gathering control evidence, resolving assessment findings, and maintaining continuous-monitoring records.
  • Help DoD and Air Force customers deliver, secure, and operate cloud-native enterprise platforms.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Secret clearance.
  • At least seven years of relevant professional experience and a related degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain Terraform modules and reusable Infrastructure as Code for cloud, network, and Kubernetes resources.
  • Experience establishing GitOps workflows with Argo CD, Flux, GitLab, GitHub, or comparable platforms.
  • Three to five years designing and deploying Kubernetes solutions; Big Bang experience is advantageous.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD, containers, and secure DevSecOps methods.
  • Strong knowledge of DISA STIGs, RMF, NIST SP 800-53, ATO procedures, POA&M management, continuous monitoring, and security evidence development.
  • Preferred: five to ten years in DevSecOps, platform engineering, cloud engineering, SRE, or software delivery.
  • Experience with CAC authentication, PIV tokens, and client-side PKI certificates.
  • Experience using AWS services such as EKS, IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch, load balancers, and security tools.
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go, or similar languages for automation and operational tooling.
  • Relevant credentials may include CKA, CKAD, CKS, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, AWS certifications, Security+, CISSP, or CCSP.
  • Experience supporting ATO or accreditation programs.
  • Familiarity with RMF, ACAS, Twistlock, Prisma Cloud, or similar scanning and compliance tools.
  • Ability to work across multi-tenant identity services serving thousands of users and integrating with microservices.
