Senior Data Engineer - Chennai, India (Onsite)

Lead the development and governance of data pipelines supporting Nordex Group’s wind-energy operations. Build reliable data models, resolve infrastructure issues, and enable accurate analytics.

Description

  • Create and maintain pipelines that transform, process, and ingest wind measurement and master data across varied sources and formats
  • Design and improve schemas and data models for structured and unstructured data storage and retrieval
  • Investigate and resolve issues affecting data pipelines and supporting infrastructure
  • Establish data quality and governance practices that promote accurate, consistent, and dependable data

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • At least 8–10 years of experience in data engineering or a comparable data-focused role
  • Strong working knowledge of ETL, data lakes, and data warehousing
  • Practical expertise with SQL and relational databases, ideally including SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS OLAP cubes, and Azure Data Factory
  • Programming experience with R, Python, Scala, and Databricks, including Spark, Delta Tables, and Unity Catalog
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and architecture principles
  • Experience with CI/CD practices and tools, preferably Azure DevOps and Git
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with careful attention to detail
  • Experience in the wind or renewable energy sector is advantageous
  • Effective stakeholder management and strong communication skills for working with internal and external partners
