Senior Data Analyst, CFTC Regulatory Reporting (Hybrid)

Senior Data Analyst supporting Peraton’s CFTC derivatives-market reporting and data-quality programs. The role defines standards, validates exchange data, and resolves SQL and AWS reporting issues.

Description

  • Analyze reporting needs and establish data standards, schemas, and validation rules for CFTC regulatory obligations
  • Create technical guidance, data mappings, FIXML examples, and revised guidebooks reflecting schema updates and new validations
  • Assist DCMs, SEFs, and DCOs with submission questions while keeping reference materials accurate and current
  • Review exchange data for duplicates, omissions, errors, cross-dataset inconsistencies, gaps, and anomalies
  • Compare data across SQL Server and Redshift environments
  • Help diagnose UAT and production problems involving high-volume inbound datasets
  • Work with CFTC stakeholders and external market participants to review and approve data standards
  • Join industry discussions, regulatory working groups, and validation sessions
  • Evaluate new DCM and SEF applicant submissions, align them with CFTC requirements, and record resulting updates
  • Help the data loading and processing team test and troubleshoot externally sourced files entering the CFTC Datawarehouse
  • Improve data quality and regulatory utility across traditional derivatives and prediction-market ecosystems

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience with a BS/BA, 6 years with an MS/MA, 10 years with an AS/AA, or 12 years with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of derivatives markets, including futures, options, swaps, and exchange operations
  • Experience with or knowledge of XML, FIXML, and FPML
  • Experience working in multi-data-center or cloud environments, including AWS and Redshift
  • Ability to produce detailed technical documentation, mapping specifications, and validation rules
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, external exchanges, and stakeholders
  • At least one year of experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, SQL Server Management Studio, AWS, Redshift, and Python
  • Ability to work onsite at least three days per week
  • Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Active Public Trust Clearance is preferred
  • Financial industry certifications are preferred
  • Experience with prediction-market data or knowledge of these markets is preferred
  • Experience with SAS, programming-language data visualization such as Python or R, or tools such as MicroStrategy and Tableau is preferred but not required
