Senior Civil Litigation Trial Attorney
Lead complex civil defense cases across California, from case strategy through trial and verdict. This remote role includes courtroom travel for trials and other proceedings.
Description
- Lead civil cases as first-chair trial counsel through verdict
- Manage complex litigation independently from intake to resolution
- Build and carry out trial plans, including witness preparation and evidence presentation
- Take depositions, direct discovery, and handle pretrial proceedings
- Prepare and argue substantive motions, and represent clients in court
- Assess liability, damages, and litigation risks to shape practical defense strategies
- Work with clients and other attorneys toward favorable case outcomes
- Travel across California for trials, court appearances, and proceedings
Requirements
- Hold active membership in the California State Bar
- Have first-chair trial experience with a record of successful results
- Bring 4 or more years of civil litigation experience; candidates with somewhat less experience may be considered
- Demonstrate strong deposition, motion practice, case management, and courtroom advocacy skills
- Have preferred experience in insurance defense, personal injury defense, or general liability litigation
- Be able to manage cases independently and lead trial proceedings
- Be willing to travel across California for court appearances and trials
- Have experience with complex liability, personal injury defense, and insurance litigation
