Treasury Clearing Attorney
Draft and negotiate Treasury clearing agreements while supporting compliance with the SEC’s U.S. Treasury clearing mandate. Advise on repo, CCP, margin, collateral, and netting documentation at Axiom.
Description
- Review and negotiate customer clearing agreements for sponsored repurchase transactions.
- Help prepare for compliance with the SEC’s U.S. Treasury clearing mandate.
- Work with legal, business, credit risk, and operations teams.
- Apply legal, business, and credit risk controls, guidelines, and procedures.
- Revise agreement templates and adapt industry forms for client negotiations.
- Analyze applicable regulations and netting opinions.
- Support Treasury and repo documentation within CCP frameworks.
- Align margin, collateral, netting, and default terms with operational needs.
Requirements
- Draft, review, and negotiate clearing, repo, or related markets documentation.
- Understand repurchase transactions and Treasury clearing.
- Know margin, collateral, and netting mechanics.
- Review regulations and netting opinions.
- Work effectively with legal, business, credit risk, and operations stakeholders.
- Hold a Juris Doctor degree or equivalent.
- Be licensed to practice law in an applicable jurisdiction.
- Preferred: Experience with sponsored repurchase transactions and customer clearing agreements.
- Preferred: Familiarity with CCP documentation and clearinghouse frameworks.
- Preferred: Experience adapting industry-standard forms and templates for client negotiations.
- Preferred: Experience supporting large-scale documentation or regulatory remediation initiatives.
