Senior Civil Engineer, Water and Wastewater

Lead the design and delivery of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This senior role covers regulatory coordination, construction support, project management, and multidisciplinary team leadership.

Description

  • Direct the planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure, including pump stations, storage facilities, pipelines, and related utility upgrades.
  • Develop or oversee engineering reports, technical specifications, construction drawings, and cost estimates.
  • Guide projects through design while supporting procurement and construction activities.
  • Work with clients, regulators, subconsultants, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
  • Coach junior engineers and technical personnel while supporting team growth.
  • Contribute to client meetings, proposal preparation, and business development initiatives.
  • Support project scheduling, budget management, and resource allocation.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • At least 10 years of water and wastewater engineering design experience, ideally within a consulting firm.
  • Substantial experience designing municipal water and wastewater systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce plans, specifications, engineering reports, and design calculations.
  • Working knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, projects, and deadlines effectively.
