Senior Casting Technology Manufacturing Engineer | GE Aerospace (Remote, United States)

Lead structural investment casting manufacturing technology for GE Aerospace in a senior engineering role. Drive supplier qualification, root-cause resolution, producibility improvements, and industrialization of alternative casting technologies.

Description

  • Lead process and product engineering for the investment structural castings commodity
  • Drive performance improvements and standardized work across the supplier network
  • Manage supplier technical relationships and coach suppliers on GE Aerospace processes, specifications, and methods
  • Direct cross-functional investigations to determine root causes and implement lasting corrective and preventive actions
  • Improve cast-part manufacturability through design-for-casting, clearer specifications, and stronger process capability
  • Report progress, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to leaders and key stakeholders
  • Review and approve significant and special processes, including dimensional and metallurgical results
  • Maintain compliance with applicable standards and qualification requirements
  • Work with Quality and Design Engineering on new and modified processes
  • Help suppliers and internal teams interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Identify and qualify prospective suppliers for onboarding
  • Lead technical qualification and readiness activities through Manufacturing and Quality Planning reviews
  • Support supplier casting audits
  • Qualify suppliers and help develop and industrialize alternative casting technologies
  • Travel to supplier facilities and internal manufacturing sites

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Materials or Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline; alternatively, a high school diploma or GED plus at least four years of casting manufacturing experience
  • At least five years of casting manufacturing experience
  • Willingness and ability to travel 30–50%
  • Experience with titanium and/or nickel-based superalloy structural investment castings
  • Deep knowledge of investment casting special processes, including wax, shell, melt and solidification control, heat treatment, welding, HIP, NDT, and specification compliance
  • Strong problem-solving and project management capabilities
  • Experience with new product introduction, process capability assessments, and metallurgical evaluations
  • Background in maturing manufacturing technologies and processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority
  • Experience with additively enabled casting processes
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX or a comparable CAD system
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Ability to establish U.S. Person status for access to U.S. export-controlled information
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen where applicable, with potential random and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing for employees
