Senior Business Intelligence Engineer at Humana (Remote)

Humana is seeking a senior business intelligence engineer to build governed dashboards, SQL models, and healthcare analytics. The role partners with business leaders on KPIs, operational reporting, and regulatory data requirements.

Description

  • Own the full lifecycle of business intelligence dashboards and analytical solutions
  • Collaborate with business leaders to establish KPIs and reporting aligned with operational and strategic needs
  • Maintain accurate, auditable, and traceable data for regulatory reporting
  • Tune SQL queries and BI models to support large-scale datasets
  • Apply data governance practices, including standardized metric definitions and documentation
  • Refine delivery workflows, tools, and performance measures to improve efficiency
  • Advise leaders through clear communication and evidence-based reporting
  • Create complex, cross-functional reports from initial concept through delivery with stakeholder collaboration
  • Travel occasionally to Humana offices for training or meetings

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience leading cross-functional projects with business teams on complex organizational initiatives
  • At least three years of professional SQL experience
  • At least three years of experience using Power BI or a comparable data visualization platform
  • Practical experience with Python
  • Experience developing analytics solutions for healthcare sectors
  • Experience analyzing data to address diverse business challenges and producing visualizations that inform strategic decisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for senior and executive audiences
  • Minimum home internet speeds of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload
  • A dedicated, interruption-free workspace suitable for protecting member PHI and HIPAA information
  • An undergraduate degree is preferred
  • At least two years of experience with SSIS or comparable ETL tools is preferred
  • At least one year of experience automating business processes with scripting languages is preferred
  • Advanced experience handling large, complex datasets in large organizations is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps or Power Automate is preferred
  • Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, or predictive modeling is preferred
  • Experience with Databricks and Synapse Analytics is preferred
