Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

Manage Azure infrastructure, GitHub Actions, and platform reliability for Aspire Software’s Bids & Tenders SaaS product. Support production across Canada and the United States.

Description

  • Own and improve the Azure infrastructure-as-code foundation for the Bids & Tenders SaaS platform
  • Deploy and maintain Azure infrastructure in Canadian and US production regions and in development, QA, and staging environments
  • Bring manually provisioned resources under code management, and identify and correct configuration drift
  • Create reusable infrastructure modules and apply standards for naming, tagging, resource groups, security, and policy as code
  • Build and maintain GitHub Actions workflows that deploy infrastructure and applications to App Service, Functions, Logic Apps, and AKS
  • Set up OIDC and workload identity federation for CI/CD authentication to Azure, and manage environments, approvals, and branch protections
  • Maintain private-networked GitHub runners and container image pipelines with Azure Container Registry
  • Add pipeline safeguards for plan and what-if reviews, linting, security scans, automated tests, and rollbacks
  • Operate Azure networking and edge security, including Front Door, WAF, DNS, private networking, and Network Security Groups
  • Manage secrets, certificates, and identities with Azure Key Vault, managed identities, and Microsoft Entra ID
  • Track platform health using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Managed Grafana; respond to incidents and implement lasting fixes
  • Support Azure SQL and PostgreSQL provisioning, configuration, backups, geo-replication checks, and performance troubleshooting
  • Automate operations with PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI, and Azure Automation runbooks
  • Apply AI-assisted tools and agentic workflows to infrastructure changes, investigations, and routine operations
  • Work with developers, product managers, and QA on reliability, incident triage, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
  • Keep runbooks, architecture notes, and operational documentation current

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related discipline; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered
  • At least three years in a DevOps, platform, or cloud infrastructure role, primarily working with Microsoft Azure
  • Production experience with Azure infrastructure as code, including reusable modules, deployment and state management, and drift remediation
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining GitHub Actions workflows, including reusable workflows, environments and approvals, and OIDC authentication to Azure
  • Production experience with Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and AKS
  • Sound understanding of Azure networking and security fundamentals
  • Proficiency with PowerShell, Bash, and Azure CLI
  • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted tools or agentic workflows in everyday engineering work
  • Experience with Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Private Endpoints, Private DNS, Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, and Key Vault
  • Experience with Azure Front Door, WAF, DNS management, and TLS certificate lifecycle management
  • Experience with Docker, Helm, Azure Container Registry, and AKS upgrades
  • Familiarity with Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Logic Apps, and API Management
  • Observability experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics (KQL), and Grafana
  • Working knowledge of Azure SQL and PostgreSQL, including backups, geo-replication, and basic performance tuning, as well as Elasticsearch
  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-400 are an advantage
