Senior Associate Civil Engineer - ERM | Washington DC Hybrid

Join ERM as a Senior Associate Civil Engineer supporting renewable energy, infrastructure, and remediation work. Develop designs, permits, calculations, and construction documents with multidisciplinary project teams.

Description

  • Support site civil and remedial engineering projects from planning and design through permitting and construction
  • Contribute to renewable energy, electric transmission and distribution, and site remediation initiatives
  • Develop construction drawings, technical specifications, engineering calculations, permit applications, and contract documents
  • Assist with schedules, cost estimates, labor planning, and project progress monitoring
  • Partner with engineers, scientists, and project managers across disciplines and regions
  • Design earthwork, grading, access roads, erosion and sediment controls, and stormwater management systems
  • Assemble land disturbance, construction stormwater, land use, and related permit packages
  • Perform field investigations, construction oversight, and quality assurance work
  • Analyze field information and prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, schedules, and progress reports
  • Deliver work independently and within global, multidisciplinary teams
  • Contribute to ERM’s engineering center of excellence by developing innovative designs and supporting implementation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Current Engineer-in-Training certification or eligibility to obtain it
  • One to two years of relevant professional experience
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS
  • Strong verbal, written, and computer skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project, scheduling, and construction management preferred
  • Experience in consulting or construction project settings preferred
