Senior Android Developer, OTT Team – French Services | Radio-Canada (Hybrid)

Build high-performance Kotlin applications for Radio-Canada’s streaming platforms, including CBC Gem and ICI TOU.TV. Develop experiences across mobile, tablet, and TV devices.

Description

  • Create and enhance reusable components for Radio-Canada’s digital platforms, including audio and video players
  • Maintain project standards and quality throughout delivery
  • Track emerging trends in digital development
  • Proactively identify and recommend solutions to technical challenges
  • Review active production projects and implement corrections through Agile Scrum practices
  • Evaluate completed projects to measure outcomes
  • Help define user stories for a range of products
  • Optimize applications for high-load performance
  • Contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and application releases
  • Review code and support solution deployments
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, and technical managers
  • Coordinate the technical work needed to deliver requested features
  • Build front-end functionality for the OTT platform behind CBC Gem and ICI TOU.TV

Requirements

  • A university degree or equivalent professional experience
  • At least three years of software development experience
  • Experience building complex, high-performance mobile applications
  • Proficiency with Android Studio, Git, and Kotlin
  • Experience publishing an application on Google Play
  • Experience working with code reviews and pull requests
  • Knowledge of programming patterns such as MVP and MVVM
  • Ability to read, create, and follow software architecture diagrams, including UML and sequence diagrams
  • Interest in applications designed for mobile, tablet, and TV devices
  • Broad technical knowledge and intellectual curiosity
  • Strong critical-thinking skills
  • Interest in major digital-world trends and challenges
  • A meticulous, independent, and resourceful approach
  • Excellent stress management and prioritization skills
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking abilities
  • Flexibility, initiative, and energy
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Mandatory spoken and written fluency in English and French
