Description

  • Build and maintain a native Android app in Kotlin.
  • Add features and improve existing app components.
  • Develop with Jetpack Compose and/or Android Views.
  • Maintain app stability, performance, and code quality.
  • Build and improve accessibility features for native Android apps.
  • Ensure compatibility with TalkBack.
  • Use Android Accessibility APIs and Compose Semantics.
  • Configure content descriptions, roles, and states.
  • Manage accessibility focus and navigation.
  • Support scalable text and accessible font sizing.
  • Optimize touch targets for accessibility.
  • Ensure accessible navigation throughout the app.
  • Test accessibility, particularly with TalkBack.
  • Find and fix accessibility issues.
  • Check solutions against relevant accessibility standards.
  • Support compliance with WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 guidelines.

Requirements

  • At least five years of professional experience in native Android development.
  • Strong practical Kotlin skills.
  • Commercial experience with Jetpack Compose and/or Android Views.
  • Extensive hands-on experience implementing accessibility in native Android apps.
  • Strong practical experience using TalkBack.
  • Experience with Android Accessibility APIs and/or Compose Semantics.
  • Experience implementing content descriptions, accessibility roles and states, and focus management.
  • Experience supporting scalable text and accessible font sizes.
  • Experience optimizing touch targets and accessible navigation.
  • Practical experience testing accessibility, particularly with TalkBack.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, ideally WCAG 2.1 or 2.2.
  • English communication skills.
