Senior AI Data Center Deployment Manager (Remote, United States)

Lead North American GPU infrastructure expansion for Hydra Host by securing power, fiber, sites, and delivery partners. Drive projects from site qualification through operational readiness and customer handoff.

Description

  • Build and manage a North American pipeline of candidate sites and AI Factory partners
  • Assess sites for power availability, energization timelines, rack density, liquid-cooling readiness, fiber diversity and latency, and permitting risk
  • Conduct technical and commercial due diligence on landlords, operators, and developers
  • Provide go/no-go recommendations based on customer demand and the deployment roadmap
  • Work with utilities and cooperatives to secure load commitments and accelerate interconnection and energization
  • Oversee load studies, service agreements, and substation or transmission upgrade schedules
  • Assess bridge-power and behind-the-meter power solutions
  • Develop relationships with fiber carriers, dark-fiber providers, and network operators
  • Secure diverse, high-capacity routes and negotiate connectivity agreements
  • Own site delivery through operational readiness and customer handoff
  • Coordinate construction firms, engineering partners, and integrators to achieve power, cooling, network, and rack-ready milestones
  • Manage schedules, budgets, risks, and critical-path dependencies across multiple sites
  • Serve as the senior contact for site partners, utilities, builders, and local stakeholders
  • Negotiate site, power, and connectivity agreements within delegated authority
  • Lead executive discussions and coordinate with Sales and Customer teams
  • Create a scalable site-qualification and onboarding playbook
  • Track the pipeline, megawatt timelines, and partner performance
  • Prepare executive reports on readiness, risks, and forecast capacity
  • During the first 90 days, map the site pipeline and partner landscape, establish qualification tools, and advance at least two priority sites to go/no-go

Requirements

  • 8–12 or more years of experience in data center development, site selection, colocation or hyperscale infrastructure, or energy and utility project development
  • Demonstrated experience securing utility power for large-load sites, including interconnection, load studies, and service agreements
  • Practical understanding of fiber networks and carrier provisioning
  • Proven ability to deliver multiple infrastructure projects concurrently under demanding timelines
  • Strong negotiation capabilities with utilities, landlords, carriers, and contractors
  • Ability to work independently amid ambiguity and take meaningful ownership in a fast-moving startup
  • Clear and concise executive communication skills
  • Preferred: experience delivering high-density GPU or AI deployments involving direct liquid cooling and NVIDIA reference architectures
  • Preferred: an established network among utilities, developers, carriers, and data center operators in major North American markets
  • Preferred: familiarity with permitting, zoning, land entitlement, and local incentive programs
  • Preferred: exposure to site financing or capacity offtake arrangements
  • Preferred: background in electrical or mechanical engineering, construction management, or energy
