Senior Accountant, CAAS – Manufacturing | Minneapolis Onsite

Senior accountant supporting manufacturing clients through CLA’s Client Accounting & Advisory Services. Responsibilities include accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and associate supervision.

Description

  • Build an understanding of each client’s business and organizational structure
  • Manage multiple clients, accounting systems, and charts of accounts across daily, weekly, and monthly activities
  • Coordinate and process accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll transactions
  • Coordinate and review reconciliations for prepaids, receivables, fixed assets, payables, accruals, investments, debt, and industry-specific accounts
  • Prepare, interpret, and review financial statements ranging from basic to complex
  • Review general ledgers, cash flows, and account allocations
  • Document processes and procedures while proactively developing backup support
  • Complete sales tax returns and Form 1099 filings
  • Prepare audit workpapers, tax return workpapers, and other requested client materials
  • Oversee associate and analyst workflows and review the quality of their work
  • Support internal audits, due diligence, system selection, and other consulting projects

Requirements

  • At least two years of relevant accounting or financial experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A combination of relevant experience, education, and training may substitute for the degree
  • Experience managing multiple clients, accounting systems, and charts of accounts
  • Ability to process accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll transactions
  • Experience performing account reconciliations and preparing and reviewing financial statements
  • Experience preparing sales tax returns, Form 1099 filings, audit workpapers, and tax return workpapers
  • Ability to oversee and supervise associates and analysts
  • Experience supporting internal audits, due diligence, system selection, and consulting projects
