Security Operations Manager — Sofia (Hybrid)

Description

  • Direct daily SOC operations and triage high-priority security incidents
  • Create incident-response playbooks and coach Tier 1–3 analysts
  • Manage and expand the security operations team through workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, objectives, reviews, and development plans
  • Own incident severity and escalation frameworks, serving as incident commander for major events
  • Coordinate response activities across IT, Legal, Communications, and executive stakeholders, including applicable regulatory notification deadlines
  • Establish and report operational KPIs covering detection and response times, coverage, incident patterns, and SLA-based vulnerability remediation
  • Provide regular updates to the CISO and recurring risk summaries for executive leadership and audit stakeholders
  • Architect and implement resilient enterprise security solutions across hybrid and cloud environments using secure-by-design practices
  • Lead strategic security architecture programs
  • Oversee continuous vulnerability scanning, risk ranking, remediation monitoring, and cross-functional patch-management processes
  • Work with the CISO to align technical operations with ISO 27001, NIS2, SOC 2, NIST CSF, audit obligations, and risk registers
  • Manage the technical implementation of security awareness campaigns, phishing simulations, and security enablement initiatives
  • Assess, implement, and continually improve SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, and IAM platforms

Requirements

  • Bring at least seven years of cybersecurity experience, including leadership of SOC or security operations teams and hands-on security architecture work
  • Demonstrated ability to lead security analysts through hiring, shift design, performance management, and professional development
  • Experience owning escalation procedures and directing major-incident response in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to define security metrics for senior management and translate technical exposure into business risk
  • Strong expertise in threat detection, log analytics, incident handling, cloud security architecture across Azure, AWS, or GCP, and vulnerability-scanning platforms
  • Solid command of regulatory and compliance frameworks, with the ability to turn GRC obligations into practical technical controls
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills for executive risk discussions and technical mentoring
  • CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GCIA, GCIH, or comparable technical certification is preferred
