Remote Web Developer, eCRM | Humane World for Animals

Build and maintain eCRM donation, advocacy, webpage, and email experiences for Humane World for Animals. Apply front-end engineering, AI-assisted development, accessibility, security, compliance, and testing practices.

Description

  • Partner with Digital Marketing, Brand and Visuals, and Information Systems teams to clarify project needs and recommend technical approaches.
  • Develop efficient code for custom donation forms, advocacy forms, webpages, and email templates.
  • Implement user experience, accessibility, page-speed, and GDPR best practices.
  • Meet global, regional data, and information security compliance requirements.
  • Use AI-assisted and agentic coding tools for development, refactoring, debugging, testing, and documentation.
  • Monitor, maintain, update, or retire solutions created or supported with AI-assisted development.
  • Review AI-generated code and configurations with human oversight before deployment.
  • Follow quality assurance processes and resolve technical issues in Engaging Networks.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and the Information Security team.
  • Maintain script inventories, attestations, and other PCI compliance records.
  • Work with testing teams to deliver A/B and multivariate testing capabilities for forms.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, support materials, and incident reports.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, web development, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least four years of front-end web development experience, including custom website development.
  • Experience with Engaging Networks or another eCRM platform.
  • Proficiency with HTML5, Sass, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, GitHub, Engaging Networks modules, Webpack, Node, npm, core AWS services, and Mailgun.
  • Familiarity with Segment or comparable customer data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and agentic development tools, including Microsoft Copilot Studio, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot.
  • Knowledge of responsive mobile-first design, user experience, accessibility, page-speed optimization, browser compatibility, and GDPR compliance.
  • Familiarity with cookie-consent platforms, preferably Iubenda.
  • Experience creating interactive data visualizations.
  • Experience translating Adobe XD or Figma designs into coded web projects.
  • Understanding of digital marketing approaches for US and international audiences.
  • Knowledge of AI applications in web development, including personalization, workflow automation, and responsible implementation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving, collaborative environment while meeting deadlines with high-quality work.
  • Data-driven problem-solving experience using A/B testing platforms and Google Analytics.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence is an advantage; interest in animal protection is preferred.
