Remote Python Instructor (Part-Time) — Kodland

Kodland is seeking a remote Python instructor in Turkey to teach online Python and digital skills to children aged 5–17. The role involves leading group classes, supporting projects, and tracking student progress.

Description

  • Deliver online Python lessons using Kodland’s curriculum and teaching materials
  • Introduce students to Python programming and core software concepts
  • Guide students through variables, data types, conditionals, loops, functions, lists, dictionaries, modules, and fundamental algorithmic thinking
  • Explain technical topics clearly and engagingly at an age- and skill-appropriate level
  • Encourage active participation, problem-solving, and creativity in group classes
  • Regularly monitor students’ classwork, homework, and project progress
  • Support students as they build games, applications, mini-projects, or interactive programs
  • Complete class reports after lessons
  • Maintain regular communication with the team lead and operations team
  • Improve teaching skills through feedback from the quality team

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Python programming language
  • A solid understanding of fundamental programming concepts
  • Ability to explain variables, data types, conditionals, loops, functions, and basic data structures
  • Ability to communicate algorithmic thinking and problem-solving processes simply to students
  • Enjoyment of working with children and a patient teaching approach
  • Ability to explain technical concepts through gamification and at a child-friendly level
  • An energetic, guiding teaching style that encourages active student participation
  • A suitable computer, camera, microphone, and stable internet connection for online teaching
  • Willingness to use Zoom and learn online teaching tools
  • Availability for at least 10 hours per week
  • Availability to teach on weekdays from 16:00–22:30 and weekends from 08:00–22:30
  • An organized, responsible, and strong communication style
  • Experience teaching, running workshops, tutoring, or mentoring children or young people is preferred
  • Experience developing projects with Python is preferred
  • Familiarity with Scratch, MakeCode, or similar visual programming tools is preferred
  • Knowledge of OOP, basic game development, bot development, data processing, or web fundamentals is preferred
  • Interest in project-based learning and gamification is preferred
  • Classroom management and communication skills in group lessons, and openness to feedback and improving teaching skills, are preferred.
