Remote Financial Analyst - Canada

Partner with Motive’s finance and business leaders across FP&A, reporting, forecasting, risk management, and financial controls. Drive stronger performance, compliance, and scalable processes for a line of business.

Description

  • Act as a Finance Business Partner and participate as a key member of the Line of Business leadership team
  • Support planning, analysis, risk management, controls, process optimization, and business performance initiatives
  • Help Line of Business leaders and functional managers develop business plans, set priorities, and prepare forecasts
  • Enhance financial processes, systems, and policies to support scale, reliable data, regulatory compliance, and governance
  • Lead monthly and quarterly financial reporting for the Line of Business
  • Maintain project-level support and auditability for Revenue, Deferred Revenue, and WIP under IFRS 15
  • Administer sales commission accounting and payments
  • Lead planning and forecasting cycles, including QSR and QBR activities
  • Track and report Bookings, Backlog, and Book-to-Bill metrics
  • Drive financial improvements across revenue, profitability, forecasting, cash flow, and operating performance
  • Maintain accurate Line of Business net revenue, revenue recognition, and cost-of-sales reporting under IFRS and company policies
  • Review professional services projects and ensure compliant percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
  • Assess risk management practices, standardize policies, and improve related processes
  • Oversee and enhance financial processes and systems within the Line of Business
  • Provide Finance guidance to Legal on vendor and customer contracts
  • Assess project bids and contract terms against corporate requirements
  • Contribute to or lead Finance initiatives involving new systems and process improvements
  • Provide support to the broader Finance organization during peak workloads and holiday coverage

Requirements

  • Accounting qualification such as CPA or an equivalent credential
  • Strong command of current technical accounting principles and their practical application
  • Knowledge of project accounting and software accounting concepts
  • Ability to analyze data, identify meaningful insights, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Sound business judgment with the ability to influence leaders at strategic and operational levels
  • Availability and authorization to travel internationally occasionally, expected to be less than 10%
  • Ability to communicate effectively and partner with business stakeholders
  • Demonstrated independence and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with multiple entities, countries, or currencies within a group organization
  • Proficiency with accounting or ERP software and comfort using Microsoft Office tools
  • Eligibility to work in the country designated as the employment location
  • Experience with software-industry accounting, project accounting, or mergers and acquisitions is an advantage
