Remote Data Analyst (GCP, BigQuery & Power BI) — India

Data Analyst supporting a Weekday client by turning complex datasets into actionable business insights. Build Power BI reporting solutions using Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.

Description

  • Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, business opportunities, and improvement areas
  • Create and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations
  • Use Google Cloud Platform services to support analytics and reporting needs
  • Write optimized BigQuery SQL for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis
  • Partner with data engineers and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver scalable analytical solutions
  • Profile, cleanse, validate, and reconcile data to maintain accuracy and consistency
  • Build data models and analytical datasets for reporting, visualization, and business intelligence
  • Improve the performance and efficiency of queries, dashboards, and data pipelines
  • Investigate data quality problems and coordinate their resolution with relevant teams
  • Convert business requirements into KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and analytical reports
  • Communicate analytical findings and insights to stakeholders
  • Help establish data analytics processes, standards, and best practices

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related discipline
  • Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform and cloud-based analytics environments
  • Advanced BigQuery expertise, including SQL querying, optimization, transformation, and large-scale analysis
  • Strong Power BI experience covering dashboard development, visualization, reporting, and KPI creation
  • Advanced SQL skills and a solid understanding of relational and analytical databases
  • Experience analyzing large datasets and converting business needs into analytical solutions
  • Good knowledge of data quality controls, validation, and analytical reporting
  • Strong grasp of data analysis and data modeling principles
  • Experience using Dataplex for data management, governance, discovery, and organization in GCP
  • Experience with Dataform for developing, managing, and transforming BigQuery analytical datasets
  • Understanding of modern data warehouse and data lake architectures
  • Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data lineage
  • Python or another programming language used for data analysis is advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple analytical requests, and explain complex insights in clear business terms
