Remote Agency Data Catalog Product Architect

Description

  • Champion reliable, modern, and reproducible software through version control, modular architecture, automated testing, documentation, and CI/CD.
  • Coach and mentor team members in sound software engineering and design principles.
  • Build solutions within secure cloud architectures using technologies such as Apache Airflow and Microsoft Purview.
  • Oversee environment configuration, source control, deployments, and CI/CD operations.
  • Create and support enterprise integrations through APIs, S3 ingestion endpoints, and database connectors.
  • Partner with engineering, cybersecurity, and product stakeholders on metadata management, asset ingestion, workflow automation, and platform usability.
  • Define and document technical requirements, user stories, and workflow specifications.
  • Support work estimation, sequencing, and prioritization to improve delivery efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience developing scalable data services, ingestion pipelines, and automation workflows for highly reliable, enterprise-scale cloud solutions.
  • Ability to analyze complex challenges and deliver creative, practical, and feasible solutions.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities in dynamic, remote work environments.
  • Ability to work empathetically with platform customers to triage issues, enable self-service, and improve products from user feedback.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with data scientists, software engineers, platform engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and product stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience using agile project management tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a NASA Public Trust background investigation.
  • Experience supporting the NASA Web Services Operational Environment.
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Apache Airflow, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience supporting projects for the Federal government.
  • Ability to design and document technical solutions for continuous integration and continuous deployment.
