Part-Time Event Server, Terrain Events

Serve guests at upscale weddings and large events at Terrain Events, handling setup, food service, and breakdown. The role is part-time and based in Wayland, Massachusetts.

Description

  • Set up dining rooms, patios, bars, and ceremony or garden spaces.
  • Reposition tables and chairs between event segments and during breakdown.
  • Deliver polished service for passed appetizers, tableside wine, and buffet, plated, or family-style meals.
  • Learn menu items, table locations, and seat numbers to run food, especially entrées.
  • Clear glasses, dishes, silverware, and trash from event tables and bring them to the kitchen.
  • Refill and restock stationary food and beverage displays, and adapt them as events change.
  • Dry, polish, and store event equipment.
  • Keep service stations clean and orderly.
  • Represent Terrain with professionalism and care.

Requirements

  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to stand and move for 8–10 hours.
  • Be able to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Be available on weekends and some holidays.
  • Work at least three shifts per month during peak season, April through December.
  • Provide recurring weekly availability.
  • Be available for typical shifts from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
  • Bring a flexible, proactive, collaborative approach to the team.
  • Be comfortable with formal event moments such as speeches and dances.
  • Have food service experience; upscale hospitality, catering, fine dining, wedding, or banquet experience is a plus.
