Serve U-Haul rental customers at the Champaign, Illinois center while handling equipment returns, inspections, dispatches, and other customer-facing rental services.

Description

  • Support customers inside and outside the U-Haul center with rental products and services
  • Manage rental transactions and inventory using smartphone-based U-Scan technology
  • Move and connect U-Haul trucks and trailers
  • Clean and inspect equipment, including checking fluid levels
  • Respond to customer questions and explain available products and services
  • Prepare rental invoices and process returned equipment
  • Install trailer hitches and wiring
  • Fill propane tanks
  • Operate a forklift
  • Complete continuing education through U-Haul University
  • Handle additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Hold a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship
  • Be able to move equipment weighing at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance
  • Be comfortable working near moving parts, machinery, fumes, and irritating chemicals
  • Be prepared to use protective equipment such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields when required
  • Refrain from using nicotine products where restricted by U-Haul hiring policy
