Operations Specialist, Manufacturing

Manage bills of materials, routings, quotes, and ERP manufacturing jobs at Stephen Gould. Support production planning and coordinate with teams delivering client manufacturing solutions.

Description

  • Track manufacturing jobs and keep parts, BOMs, routings, and job data accurate from release to completion.
  • Create, maintain, and validate bills of materials, routings, manufacturing jobs, and related records in the ERP system.
  • Update ERP records, quotes, BOMs, routings, and manufacturing jobs to reflect engineering changes and customer revisions.
  • Help schedule production, release work, and prioritize orders according to customer needs, material availability, and production demands.
  • Check that active jobs are queued and have the parts, materials, and information needed to proceed.
  • Maintain production and open-order reports, coordinating with Purchasing and Production to resolve material or scheduling issues.
  • Prepare and revise customer quotes, verifying that pricing, materials, specifications, operations, and supporting details are complete and accurate.
  • Work with Sales and Project Managers on accurate, manufacturable quotes that fit customer needs and production capabilities.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Purchasing, Buyers, Production, Customer Service, and suppliers.
  • Review processes and recommend changes to improve efficiency, consistency, accuracy, and operational performance.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on BOM integrity, routing accuracy, quote development, manufacturing job setup, engineering revisions, and ERP manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • At least three years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, economics, or a related field.
  • ERP system knowledge across core supply chain, manufacturing, services, financial, and other organizational processes is highly preferred.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and virtual communication and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, and Zoom.
  • Experience in a corporate sales and service environment is preferred.
  • Analytical thinking, sound judgment, and problem-solving ability.
  • Attention to detail and a service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting delivery deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with both front office and warehouse staff.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivation.
