Medical Assistant II, OB/GYN - Onsite in Tracy

Sutter Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support OB/GYN providers and patient care teams. This full-time onsite role in Tracy, California, includes clinical, clerical, and patient-care responsibilities.

Description

  • Provide clinical and clerical support to providers and patient care teams
  • Complete back-office and patient-focused tasks that support high-quality care
  • Promote efficient patient flow and departmental workflows
  • Support the patient care team in carrying out the medical plan of care
  • Educate and communicate with patients, families, support groups, and healthcare providers
  • Carry out all responsibilities under the direction of a clinician

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant program, with the diploma presented within 90 days, or completion of a 160-hour Medical Assistant externship
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • One year of recent relevant experience
  • General knowledge of medical procedures, views, and equipment
  • Basic knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Proficiency in core Medical Assisting skills, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and administering injections
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based information and instructions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as electronic health records (EHR)
  • Ability to prioritize work, operate independently and collaboratively, resolve routine problems, and manage multiple tasks
  • Availability for Monday through Friday day shifts, with weekends as needed
