Lead Project Engineer, Flight Controls — Phoenix Hybrid

Lead Flight Controls programs at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies for commercial, electric, and unmanned aircraft. Direct engineering scope, certification, risk management, customer coordination, and multidisciplinary execution.

Description

  • Deliver Flight Controls programs against technical, cost, schedule, quality, and customer objectives
  • Act as the primary engineering liaison for customers, Program Management, and cross-functional partners
  • Own engineering scope, plans, execution, risks, and deliverables with limited oversight
  • Coordinate teams spanning Systems, Software, Hardware, Safety, Certification, Manufacturing, and Quality
  • Assess, mitigate, and resolve technical, schedule, cost, and program risks
  • Maintain adherence to development processes, certification requirements, and governance standards
  • Contribute to proposals, engineering estimates, change requests, and customer growth engagements
  • Coach Project Engineers and advance project management practices across the Flight Controls organization
  • Lead programs from proposal and planning through certification, customer delivery, and closeout

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, systems engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least six years of experience in flight controls or related avionics programs
  • At least two years of experience as a Project Engineer
  • PMP certification is valued; Honeywell Aerospace may sponsor certification for candidates who do not yet hold it
  • Proven leadership and project management capability
  • Ability to independently direct complex programs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with customers, Program Management, and engineering teams
  • Experience guiding multidisciplinary teams through development, integration, testing, and certification
  • Working knowledge of DAL A avionics development, verification, validation, and certification with FAA, EASA, CAAC, or other civil aviation authorities
  • Experience integrating and testing DAL A avionics in laboratory, ground-test, and flight-test settings
  • Experience contributing to proposals, customer pursuits, and business growth efforts
  • Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, protected person with asylum or refugee status, or someone able to obtain export authorization
