Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer – Windows, Active Directory & VMware, France (Remote)

Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer responsible for Windows, Active Directory, virtualization, and backup environments. Support PSI CRO AG’s global clinical-trial operations within a pharmaceutical contract research organization.

Description

  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve Windows and Linux server infrastructure
  • Administer virtualization, storage, and backup platforms
  • Manage Windows Active Directory and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  • Support Windows- and Linux-based enterprise applications and services, including email and business systems
  • Operate infrastructure support services for monitoring, patching, configuration, and access control
  • Plan and deliver operating system patches and infrastructure upgrades in line with company policies
  • Lead small and medium-sized infrastructure projects and contribute to larger initiatives
  • Qualify, validate, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure systems for performance
  • Keep infrastructure asset, warranty, and related service records accurate and current
  • Coordinate infrastructure vendors, including deliveries, contracts, and vendor activities
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system standards
  • Partner with Network & Connectivity and Cloud & Modern Workplace teams on cross-functional initiatives

Requirements

  • University degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline
  • Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Extensive practical experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies
  • Experience administering Windows and/or Linux servers
  • Experience with enterprise infrastructure services, including PKI and email or MTA technologies
  • Practical knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure projects
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring, patch management, and configuration management
  • Ability to resolve complex infrastructure problems and produce detailed technical documentation
  • Experience with VMware, Proxmox, or Hyper-V
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Experience with Azure Arc and Azure Update Manager
  • Experience with Zabbix or another infrastructure monitoring platform
  • Experience with PowerShell or another scripting language and infrastructure automation
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Sendmail, or Postfix
  • Experience with Veeam or comparable backup technologies
  • Familiarity with ITIL, change management, qualification, and validation processes
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft, virtualization, Linux, or other infrastructure technologies
