Junior Middle Office Analyst – London Hybrid

Support trading execution, treasury operations, settlements, and reconciliations at Moneyfarm, a pan-European digital wealth manager. This full-time hybrid role is based in London.

Description

  • Support order routing, monitoring, and execution for Moneyfarm’s Discretionary Portfolio Management and Execution-Only business lines.
  • Provide trading desk coverage and execution assistance during holidays and periods of elevated trading activity.
  • Monitor execution quality, prepare Transaction Cost Analysis reports, and compile materials for the Best Execution Committee’s board packs.
  • Handle ad hoc reporting requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with onboarding new financial products and setting up their instruments.
  • Use internal Python and SQL tools to track trading activity and investigate complex client execution queries.
  • Communicate daily with market counterparties, brokers, and custodians on operational matters.
  • Coordinate daily trade matching and affirmation, and send settlement instructions to custodians.
  • Carry out treasury activities including bank payments, liquidity transfers, and ledger upkeep.
  • Investigate and resolve cash, stock, and position reconciliation breaks with back-office teams.
  • Track settlement progress and work with counterparties to resolve failed trades and other operational exceptions.
  • Manage corporate action notifications to support accurate position updates in client accounts.
  • Help back-office teams complete trade-related calculations and adjustments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative, scientific, or finance-related field such as Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Finance.
  • Sound understanding of how financial markets operate.
  • Good knowledge of exchange-traded funds.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data manipulation and financial modelling formulas.
  • Working knowledge or academic experience with Python and SQL for data analysis and scripting.
  • Experience with financial market data terminals, including Bloomberg Terminal or Refinitiv/Eikon, is advantageous.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong awareness of operational risk when processing financial transfers.
  • Strong numerical ability and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication skills for managing stakeholders across front-, middle-, and back-office teams.
  • Proactive interest in automating operational workflows through technical scripting.
  • Fluent English.
  • Based in Milan or London.
