Investment Analyst, Ventures

Support Intermountain Ventures’ healthcare innovation investments through market research, due diligence, valuation, financial modeling, and portfolio reporting.

Description

  • Support Intermountain Ventures’ investment team with market research, due diligence, and data management.
  • Advance commercial innovations with the potential to transform healthcare at Intermountain and beyond.
  • Source and screen deals, research industries and competitors, and conduct due diligence.
  • Prepare opportunity and investment memos, along with ongoing portfolio company updates.
  • Work with evaluation teams to recommend pilots and assess financial opportunities.
  • Identify prospective investments under the direction of senior investment team members.
  • Interview company leaders, financial sponsors, industry participants, customers, and clients.
  • Analyze valuations using comparable company data, financial models, and discounted cash flow methods where applicable.
  • Build detailed financial models covering capital structure, purchase price, adjustments, and sensitivities.
  • Assess risks and potential synergies with implementation teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate legal due diligence and transaction closing matters with counsel.
  • Help manage portfolio companies after investment.
  • Assess risks and escalate findings to leadership.
  • Contribute to follow-on funding decisions and exit strategy analyses.
  • Keep records accurate in Salesforce, Workfront, CRM systems, and other databases.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports.
  • Assist with other Intermountain Ventures projects as needed.
  • Report to managing directors and work with the Venture Principal and Investment Associate.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; the degree will be verified.
  • One year of analyst experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Understand research, presentation development, and valuation methods.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Demonstrate strong financial modeling skills.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Have experience working with system stakeholders to identify needs and source solutions.
  • Demonstrate technical and analytical ability.
  • Bring experience in asset management, corporate or business development, financial services, investment banking, mergers, acquisitions or divestitures, venture capital, or management consulting.
  • Be able to speak, hear, and understand spoken information.
  • Be able to use computers and other IT equipment.
  • Be able to read computer monitors and documents.
  • Be able to sit or stand for extended periods while working.
