GCP Architect – Canada Remote Contract
Lead secure Google Cloud architecture for healthcare data platforms, including FHIR, analytics, integrations, and disaster recovery.
Description
- Facilitate architecture workshops with clients and partner stakeholders
- Design and document end-to-end Google Cloud architectures and target-state solutions
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
- Architect data ingestion and processing with Dataflow, Healthcare API/FHIR, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Firestore, and Redis
- Design analytics solutions using BigQuery and Google Cloud Storage
- Design and secure FHIR Store and Consent API implementations
- Define orchestration patterns with Cloud Composer/Airflow and Artifact Registry
- Establish security patterns for IAM, Secret Manager, and Cloud KMS
- Design hybrid connectivity with Cloud Interconnect and secure private networking
- Architect API integrations using IBM API Connect or Apigee
- Define resilience, backup, multi-region, and disaster-recovery strategies
- Work with observability and security teams
- Create implementation and migration roadmaps from current-state to target-state architecture
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing architectures on Google Cloud Platform
- Hands-on expertise with BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Run, Cloud Composer, Google Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Firestore, and Memorystore/Redis
- Strong Terraform experience provisioning multi-project Google Cloud environments, including VPCs, IAM, Interconnect, service accounts, and organization policies
- Experience with Cloud Build or Jenkins/GitLab CI, container pipelines, Artifact Registry, and GitOps
- Strong knowledge of Cloud Interconnect, IAM, Secret Manager, Cloud KMS, Private Service Connect, and perimeter security
- Experience with IBM API Connect or Apigee and partner or B2B API integrations
- Experience integrating hybrid identity systems with Google Cloud IAM
- Experience supporting multiple external integrations and API consumers
- Experience developing current-state to target-state architecture roadmaps
- Strong communication and stakeholder workshop facilitation skills
- Google Professional Cloud Architect certification is mandatory
- Preferred: Cloud Healthcare API, FHIR R4, HL7v2, and EMPI/MPI experience
- Preferred: Healthcare interoperability and healthcare data governance experience
- Preferred: Multi-region disaster recovery, resilience, and backup architecture experience
- Preferred: Experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, Wiz, CrowdStrike, or ServiceNow
- Preferred: Monolith-to-microservices transformation experience
- Preferred: Pub/Sub experience with event-driven ingestion
- Preferred: GKE/Kubernetes experience
- Preferred: Dataplex and DLP experience for PHI/PII classification, lineage, and masking
