Full-Stack Software Engineer at Alan (Remote in France)

Join Alan as a full-stack engineer building claims, insurance, and billing platforms. Develop Python and JavaScript systems serving more than one million members across multiple countries.

Description

  • Build infrastructure, interfaces, and applications for members, healthcare professionals, and internal teams
  • Own substantial product work with meaningful user interaction
  • Help develop claims systems covering healthcare expenses, documents, coverage, payments, fraud prevention, and member experiences
  • Create insurance infrastructure for real-time pricing, AI-powered sales tools, and Alan’s global insurance stack
  • Develop billing, invoicing, affiliation, employment, reconciliation, and API infrastructure for Customer Enablement
  • Take on high-impact, high-risk initiatives involving multiple engineers
  • Establish efficient systems and engineering practices across teams and products
  • Mentor engineers and lead engineering crews
  • Support hiring and strengthen the technical assessment process
  • Work within Claims Management, Insurance Offer, or Customer Enablement

Requirements

  • At least three years of software engineering experience
  • Professional experience in full-stack engineering
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, including Python, Java, or C#
  • Strong interest in modern JavaScript and web technologies
  • Ready to work with Python and JavaScript; previous experience with both is not required
  • A strong interest in building products
  • An independent, entrepreneurial approach
  • Collaborative, enthusiastic about teamwork, and willing to learn and teach
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Legal eligibility to work for any employer in France, Belgium, or Spain
  • Currently located in, or willing to relocate to, France, Spain, or Belgium
